Spent a pleasantly dry day chopping up branches, cooking hamburgers, inventing a sauce and relearning walking basslines.
Rehearsal tomorrow then off to Chiba for the weekend on Friday.

It has now rained solidly for the past four days!!!!!
Went to Kitakamakura yesterday to a money-washing temple. Apparently it is supposed to increase your wealth 2 fold. Just made my wallet a bit damp so far, but here’s hoping!
I know its been over a year but have got the blogging itch again! Little has happened in the world of Yokohamarama since then. Those of you who used to read this blog will be aware of everything anyway so no need for lists etc.
But we’re back and hope to stay.

Here is a link to a quick video house tour I made this morning

Yes we was…for dumping a bit of wood and metal at the local dumping spot near our old place. It took no less than 8 policemen to arrest us for this heinous crime. Pu and I were put into seperate patrol cars and interviewed seperately about our involvement in the apparent crime of the century ( well seemingly in the eyes of Kanagawa police anyway). We were then photographed next to our rubbish on some scales, outside our old appartment building and pointing to the spot where we had dumped the offending items. We were then bailed out by a friend. The whole process took about 5 hours. Have to report back to the police with my birth certificate(!?) ready to pay some hefty fine. OK, I know we were technically breaking the law but come on – I think we have some seriously bored policemen in Yokohama. Most of the crime is corporate in Japan anyway so our friendly neighbourhood police must jump at the chance for a bit of action. Still seething with rancour…
After the most hectic week ever we are finally settled in the new place. Have been attempting to upload a video tour of the new place but no luck yet – will keep trying. Anyway, never want to move again and I’m sure Pu seconds that.
We are moving at the beginning of July to this lovely property up a hill close to Ishikawacho station. Have spent the last couple of weeks clearing up the garden which clearly hadn’t been touched for years and fumigating the place with cockroach killer. It’s an old house but has a lot of charm – or as much charm as corrugated iron wall cladding can deliver anyway! More photos and housewarming to follow.

Had a wonderful experience Sunday night as invited to grope our way through the dark of Sankein gardens in search of fireflies. First time for me so was suitably excited, especially when one took a liking to me and crawled up my T-shirt. I was indeed aglow for a while(well, very faintly). Sick now – I blame the barium rather than the firefly.

a firefly yesterday
Can’t believe its been a year since the last barium entry. Well here we are again and I didn’t get on so well with it this time – think it had some adverse reaction with the alcohol I consumed later. We went for pizza and then jazz – on the way home I managed to push over a row of bikes and then almost got run over by some more. Thank god I wasn’t actually riding one! Sunday was spent in recovery(both bed and shopping) and I am know the proud owner of lots of Fred Perry shirts.
Here’s a picture of the beach from last week just to let you see how much the sun’s been shining recently.

We are off to join the Landmark Tower gym today. Let’s hope Pu gets past 3 visits and me just over a month this time!
