We are moving at the beginning of July to this lovely property up a hill close to Ishikawacho station. Have spent the last couple of weeks clearing up the garden which clearly hadn’t been touched for years and fumigating the place with cockroach killer. It’s an old house but has a lot of charm – or as much charm as corrugated iron wall cladding can deliver anyway! More photos and housewarming to follow.

Wow, the end of an era for you boys in your cozy flat. what prompted the move? I remember you talking about moving years ago…but what has actually tipped the scales this time in favour of moving to a tin house?
I do hope that you’ll still have enough money to visit us for a summery Christmas this year in Sydney
Well its all about saving money actually and fancying a place to put a bbq of course (as you Ozzies know all about).
I am still on for Xmas but don’t know about Pu – don’t think the hello work will last till then.
Heard Adelaide was fantastic btw
Indeed, Adelaide was fantastic. Had plans to put lots of photos on the blog, but the bloody cheap batteries that baba bought for the camera died after about 3 shots…that and the technological barriers I struggle to overcome in getting a picture out of the camera and into cyberspace.
Yippee for Christmas. Maybe we can all put out heads together and come up with a more lucrative line of work for Pu so that you can both come.
wowsers! it’s amazing! is that a real cat, z would like to know? must visit…..
we were thinking of you at the weekend as glastonbury was rained on and the organisers were actively encouraging people to leave their tents behind (for charideeee you know)!
Cat? Where? and yes you must visit !!!
Good to hear Glasto was underwater again – were they still charging 50pounds for a pair of wellies?
You’re moving to a house. Looks nice. How many rooms does it have? Good luck with the gardening! Have lovely memories of weeding the small patch of grass at the front of the house in Koshigoe (and squeezing between the fence and the side of the house to pull up 6ft tree-like weeds).
Hope we can catch up soon.
large white thing, left of door…
you kind of need to squint to see it!
Tis actually a bin bag but by squinting I can see how you were fooled. Would love a cat though Pu says no – the fish and snails are enough.
SNAILS??????
