we have just watched the edited version (fast forwarding through the tape) of eurovision with a friend who seemed to like much of it. so we showed him babe i’m on fire with jason donovan and jarvis in and he wasn’t impressed. ??? liked blixa’s gettup though!

Tis a fine video that one. I have subjected many unaware guests to its pleasures on occasion. Not all were as impressed as I hoped they’d be either.
Didn’t know Jason and Jarvis were in it though. Thought that was 50 feet of pure white snow.

    Dear Bu n Pu
Have you seen Morvern Callar? It’s great and very much up your street . Soundtrack includes lots of Can (Neil and I are currently very into Can) and very listenable things like Nancy Sinatra, Stereolab, Broadcast, Aphex Twin etc. etc..
So we must mate our itunes libraries like we always say we will.
(Eyes terribly itchy – allergy perhaps.)
[Oh yes: and please come to our summer party @ Peace Bar on 6/25 to hear lots of delectable musak...]

Of course we shall be at the party (or I will be at least, Pu may be working). Please tell us more about Morvern Callar. What country is it from and where can it be seen?
Music page will be updated soon and include more great singers and bands (including Can).

It’s a British film directed by Lynne Ramsay and its kind of a dig at self-obsessed sensitive straight men but that isn’t giving anything away. Actually we rented the DVD at Tsutaya and later bought the soundtrack which is fab. At last we thought an original British offering. You know, so much Brit film is in the Full Monty mode these days – working class sentimentalia – either that or groovy gangster movies.
Wonderful you can come and hope that Pu can make it too. An invite will arrive in your box anon.

Oops – just realised I forget an apostrophe and I’ve just read Eats, Shoots and Leaves. Ought to be ashamed of myself…

Thanks goldencroc. Will be sure to check out Morvern Callar. Know what you mean about Brit Flicks but we did watch About a Boy on telly last night and quite enjoyed it (sentimentality present but evenly handed). Looking forward to your party!

Can, Stereolab, Broadcast, and Aphex Twin? I’ll be checking that one out. As for Nancy Sinatra, I definitely recommend checking out Crispin Glover’s cover of “These Boots Were Made For Walking”.

E bought me a subscription for Classic FM Magazine. Comes each month with a ‘free’CD. Super reviews and downloads. Sony have just brought out a pen shaped MP3 player with FM radio, a step counter and timer for us keen Gym types. Thought I had everything but this seems a must. Music while you work out togther with a step counter what more can I ask!
